Disinterred: The Origins of The Bulletproof Coffin #5

Before we get into today's crumbling comics from the coffin, head on over to  Starburst Magazine and check out the article by Phillip Michael Buchan, featuring an interview with Kane and Hine, along with critiques from Dan Lockwood and Cy Dethan.

Done that?

Okay, here are today's offerings. First a Kafkaesque tale by Basil Wolverton from the pages of this comic from February 1953:

Profound indeed for, when all's said and done, are we not all, in our heart of hearts, no more than crabs scuttling across the Seabed of Despond?

Let's lighten the mood a little. There are times when you really don't need to read a whole story. Sometimes one panel tells the tale. This is "The Joker Batman" by Bob Kane.

They just don't make them like that any more. Sigh...
