It Came From The Box - Slow Death

Dredged up from the bottomless depths of the legendary Box of Old Stuff, here's a classic strip from the environmentally friendly SLOW DEATH #8 published by Last Gasp in 1977. The strip is written and drawn by the amazing Greg Irons, who tragically died in 1984 at the age of only 37. Cover art is by William Stout who thankfully is still with us...

  1. Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this! I wish the scans were bigger because I absolutely have always loved the great Greg Irons, but that you bothered to scan the story at all is a HUGE gift to the comics readers on the net who aren't aware of him.

    Thank you!

  2. I'm a little reluctant to scan any higher as I don't have copyright on this material and I don't want it to look like a professional reproduction. Greg Irons, as you say, is greatly under-appreciated and it's high time his work was collected properly. There is a collection ("You Call This Art? A Greg Irons Retrospective.") from Fantagraphics, but it's out of print and copies are selling in the hundreds of dollars. Time for a re-issue.
